AIRWAYS

The only airport present in Meghalaya is Umroi (35 km from Shillong) and it possess landing facility for smaller aircrafts and is having flight connected with Kolkata, Aizawl and Silchar. Another small airport is under preparations near Tura. A helicopter service connecting Shillong to Guwahati and Tura is also available in Meghalaya.

ROADWAYS

The total length of road at the time of formation of Meghalaya in 1972 was 2786.68 km but as of 31st march 2015 it has gone up to 9666.848 Km. The road density during this interim period has also increased from 12.35 km per 100 square kilometer to 43.10 km per 100 square kilometer.
