HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX

In order to measure human development quantitatively, the HDR 1990 of UNDP came up with the Human Development Index (HDI) to measure the levels of human development in different parts of the world. The HDI is a composite index that captures humans as both the means as well as the ends of development.
